Payroll Specialist with English

For our client, a global pharmaceutical company with a shared services centre in Prague, we are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist.


Position Overview


The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for multiple assigned entities across different markets.

The role involves close cooperation with HR, Finance, Tax, and external payroll providers, as well as active participation in process improvement, standardisation, and ensuring high-quality payroll operations across the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently deliver accurate and timely payroll for multiple entities in compliance with local legislation and regulations
  • Input and maintain payroll and employee data in relevant systems
  • Monitor and process standard employee and salary changes
  • Manage expatriate and commuter payroll cases in cooperation with Global Mobility and external providers
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and audit requirements
  • Prepare documentation and approvals for payroll-related bank payments
  • Support development and implementation of payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Handle payroll, tax, and social insurance queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to standardisation and continuous improvement of payroll processes across regions
  • Collaborate with HR Service Delivery, HR Business Partners, and Centres of Excellence
  • Support documentation and optimisation of payroll systems and processes
  • Participate in projects and working groups
  • Assist with payroll reporting (earnings, tax, and statutory reports)
  • Continuously develop knowledge of payroll legislation, systems, and best practices


Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or relevant payroll qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a multinational environment with multiple entities
  • Experience with outsourced payroll providers (e.g. ADP, Celergo, etc.)
  • Experience with HR systems such as Workday or SAP is an advantage
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Czech is an advantage
  • Experience working in international and cross-functional teams
